Position Summary Are you passionate about solving complex problems? Join our dynamic team as a Orion Lab Integration Engineer and contribute to support NASA as an Oceaneering Teammate on the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) II contract. You will be part of the Wireless Communication and Integration section in the Engineering Department on the NASA JSC Engineering, Technology and Science II (JETS II) Contract. This role offers opportunities in human spaceflight and deep space exploration programs. You will help ensure our services meet and exceed standards and expectations. You will collaborate with a team dedicated to excellence.

Responsibilities

Serve as the Lead Engineer for the Lab Integration activities of the Orion Program within the Avionics Systems Division of NASA Johnson Space Center.

Analyze and assess technical and programmatic integration activities and provide strategic guidance, Avionics, software, and system-level test planning and execution in support of lab testing for integration, verification, and validation for Orion and other programs.

Negotiate and track schedules with hardware and software dependencies including deliverables to and from external organizations.

Jointly manage with the prime contractor the overall test and integration approach for cross-program avionics and software testing.

Support and facilitate re-planning efforts to accommodate emerging issues and risks such as late deliveries or test anomalies.

Support planning for the future of JSC Labs.

Travel up to 4 days every 6 weeks to Denver and/or other Artemis test facilities.

Participate in system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews, and critical design reviews.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience; location-based role with limited telework.

Ability to travel to Denver or other Artemis test facilities.

Knowledge of Linux and scripting languages.

Experience with hardware testing, lab processing, or related.

Ability to work with others across organizations and to communicate technical data effectively.

Ability to prepare written documents and verbally present at various meetings.

Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines with limited supervision.

Experience working in a team environment.

Preferred

Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork.

Experience with NASA processes.

Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and able to pass a U.S. government background investigation.

Management prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
