Adjunct Faculty – Surgical Technologist Program
Olympic College is seeking Adjunct Faculty for the Surgical Technologist Program. The Adjunct Faculty - Surgical Technology Program is responsible for providing quality instruction to students in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings. This position plays a key role in preparing students for careers as surgical technologists by delivering engaging coursework, hands-on skill training, and clinical supervision. Salary:
$5,000 - $6,000 per 5-credit

Provide instruction in Surgical Technology courses, including lecture, lab, and clinical settings. Develop and deliver course materials that align with program objectives, accreditation requirements, and industry standards. Assess student performance through exams, practical demonstrations, and competency evaluations. Supervise and mentor students during clinical rotations to ensure proper skill development and adherence to patient safety protocols. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and evaluations in accordance with college policies. Assist with curriculum development and program assessment to maintain accreditation compliance. Stay updated with advancements in surgical technology and integrate new best practices into instruction. Participate in faculty meetings, training, and professional development activities. Provide academic advising and support to students as needed. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree or higher in Surgical Technology accredited by a recognized programmatic accreditation agency; Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology or a combination of both within the past five (5) years; Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; Knowledge of curriculum and program evaluation of student learning and performance; Commitment to student success and inclusive teaching practices; and Proficiency with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suites, and learning management systems (LMS). Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field. Prior teaching experience in higher education, particularly in a community college setting. Experience with curriculum development and accreditation processes. Experience in clinical coordination or supervision.
