Overview
Per Diem Medical Radiographer-Radiology MRI at Stony Brook Medicine. Position is Per Diem. The Medical Radiographer is a valuable member of the team, providing clinical services to patients by producing images to help identify problems. Qualified candidates should demonstrate excellent patient care and communication skills while adhering to high standards of excellence.
Duties
Produces diagnostic exams, positions and transfers patients, provides immobilization devices, selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis, and operates equipment.
Ensures safety in accordance with prescribed standards; assists physicians in administering contrast media; delegates areas of authority for routine or special procedures; may supervise other staff or students as assigned.
May be designated as acting supervisor in the absence of the supervisor or senior technologist.
Assists in first aid as necessary; practices sterile techniques and prevents cross-contamination.
May perform quality control tests and participate in required specialty research; may teach radiology students or hospital personnel in accordance with department objectives.
Trains or instructs in radiation procedures and equipment operation per department guidelines.
Qualifications Required:
Graduate from a Diagnostic Radiology Technology program.
NYS DOH Licensed in Diagnostic Radiology Technology with IV Contrast Injection certification.
ARRT-MRI Certification.
Current BLS Certification.
Preferred:
Hospital experience.
MRI experience.
