UC San Diego Health . Work Schedule: Variable, 8 Hour Shifts, Sunday - Saturday, every other weekend rotation. Department: CLINICAL LAB. Title: CLIN LAB SCI. Hiring Pay Scale: $47.34 - $62.53 / Hour. Worksite: Hillcrest. Appointment Type: Career. Appointment Percent: 100%. Total Openings: 1. Filing Deadline: Tue 10/14/2025. Location: San Diego, CA. Responsibilities

Under general supervision, perform waived, moderate, and high complexity testing; evaluate test results; perform and evaluate quality control procedures; perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting. Provide laboratory services in a timely manner and deliver excellent customer service. Serve as a technical resource for customers and other staff. Adhere to all safety policies. Perform other related CLS functions as required. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a scientifically related field, and/or equivalent combination of experience/training. Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) certification. Applicable clinical laboratory experience. Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SoftLab LIS and Epic. Experience with automated instrumentation such as Iris IChem, GEM4000, TEG, and Roche Cobas. Generalist skills in Hematology and Chemistry. Hospital experience. Hematology Analyzer experience (Sysmex, ACL Top). Special Conditions

Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and at various locations as necessary. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Pay Transparency and Compensation

Pay Range: Annual Full Pay Range: $98,846 - $130,563 (prorated if appointment percentage

Factors in determining compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business needs. Additional Information

If employed by the University of California, compliance with vaccination programs may be required. Life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment.
