Overview

The University of Kentucky invites applications for a tenure-eligible Assistant or Associate Professor position in Cognitive Neuroscience in the Department of Psychology. This is a 9-month position in the regular title series with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2026. The first-year distribution of effort is 25% Teaching, 65% Research, and 10% Departmental service. Ideal candidates will have an active program of research with external funding potential and will contribute to teaching and service within the Cognitive Neuroscience Area. Special consideration will be given to candidates whose research aligns with the university’s Substance Use Priority Research Area (SUPRA): research priorities at https://research.uky.edu/research-priorities/SUPRA. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Cognitive Neuroscience area and the Neuroscience B.S. program. The University provides access to resources such as the Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Spectroscopy Center, Center for Clinical and Translational Science, and the Sanders Brown Center on Aging. Responsibilities

Develop and maintain an active research program in cognitive neuroscience with potential for external funding. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the Cognitive Neuroscience area and the Neuroscience B.S. program. Contribute to departmental teaching, service, and the broader mission of the department. Qualifications

A Ph.D. in cognitive psychology, cognitive science, cognitive/behavioral neuroscience, clinical or experimental neuropsychology, or a related discipline is required. Evidence of an active or emerging program of research with potential for external funding. Application Materials
