August 15, 2025 - August 21, 2025 The Neuropsychologist, Seniors Mental Health (SMH) Outreach, works as part of an interprofessional specialty SMH Outreach team providing comprehensive assessment; consultation; risk management; and non-pharmacological support for older adults living in the community with complex cognitive-mental health needs. The Neuropsychologist functions within a consultation model, to provide neuropsychological services as a centralized resource for clients of the community Seniors Mental Health program through collaboration with the interprofessional team. The Neuropsychologist will provide a comprehensive neuropsychological assessment to assist in diagnostic clarification for older adults with suspected cognitive concerns. The Neuropsychologist will also provide evidence based psychotherapy treatment for older adults experiencing late onset mental health concerns. Skills and Qualifications Required: Doctoral level degree in Clinical Psychology from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) and/or American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university program Registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario with Clinical Neuropsychology and Clinical Psychology identified in the Declaration of Competence Registered to practice with both Adults and Seniors Registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (Neuropsychology and Older Adult) for supervised practice 1 year of recent and relevant experience with older adults living with complex cognitive and mental health disorders and behavioural sequelae in both a clinic setting as well as in the community CPA and/or APA accredited residency preferred Position Responsibilities: Provides patient and family-centered care Screens and prioritizes referrals Selects, administers/oversees and interprets psychological and neuropsychological standardized testing with clients living with a wide variety of psychological, neurological, and other medical conditions Contributes in making or supporting differential diagnoses of various cognitive impairments and/or dementia Documents assessment findings, formulates a comprehensive report to support differential diagnoses; provides recommendations around referral questions and treatment Plans, implements, monitors, and evaluates neuropsychological services Provides evidence based psychotherapy treatment for older adults experiencing late onset mental health concerns in an individual or group setting Completes electronic clinical documentation in accordance with organizational policies/procedures and the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario’s Standards of Practice Prepares written or verbal reports and updates for team meetings in a timely manner Contributes to interprofessional care plans with respect to client needs and treatment recommendations Why Work at Providence Care Community Teams Providence Care offers a wide range of community services across Southeastern Ontario Community services striving for excellence in care, education and research Committed to people centred approach to care delivery Competitive salaries, benefits and pension Corporate and service specific orientation for new hires Focus on Healthy Workplace and Culture of Quality Employee and Family Assistance Program Education, mentorship and bursary opportunities Fully affiliated with Queen’s University and St. Lawrence College and other academic institutions Locations in Kingston, Belleville, Brockville, Kingston, Napanee and Sharbot Lake
