Overview

The Department of Psychiatry and Psychology, within the Neurological Institute of the Cleveland Clinic, is recruiting an Adult psychiatrist to provide psychiatric services at our inpatient psychiatric hub hospital

Akron General in Akron, Ohio . Candidates should be board certified by the ABPN. ECT certification is highly desired and expertise in geriatric psychiatry is welcomed. Responsibilities

The successful candidate will: Provide psychiatric services at the inpatient hub hospital. Develop 2 half-day outpatient psychiatry clinics, focusing on bridge clinic follow-up visits and IOP referrals. Collaborate with residents and medical students; engage in academic and research opportunities at the Cleveland and Akron Department of Psychiatry and Psychology campuses; participate in an academic affiliation with the CCLCM of CWRU where encouraged. Work with the Akron General Inpatient psychiatry service line, which includes a new 26-bed unit supported by leadership, experienced colleagues, APP/SW/nursing teams, medical/surgical consultants, and a Level 1 trauma center emergency department. Contribute to the full spectrum of psychiatric services available at Akron General, including on-site outpatient clinics, PTRP, ECT and TMS, CL psychiatry, Womens Behavioral Health, Psychology services, and mood disorder and substance use IOP; participate in the opening of esketamine and IV ketamine programs anticipated in Q1 2026. Engage in academic and clinical activities with residents and students at Akron General’s Adult Psychiatry Residency Program. Participate in weekend call as required (1 in 8 weekends). Qualifications

Board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). ECT certification is highly desired. Expertise in geriatric psychiatry is welcomed. Willingness to collaborate across inpatient and outpatient settings and to participate in academic activities. Compensation and Benefits
