| Location: Ripon, CA | Pay Range: $130,000+ per year | Industry: Masonry (Residential, Commercial, Industrial) David Hall Masonry, Inc. is looking for an experienced and detail-driven Construction Estimating Manager to lead our Estimating Department. You will oversee a team of 3-4 Estimators, guide the preparation of accurate and timely bid proposals, manage change orders, and foster strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. This role reports to the Company President and covers the full estimating lifecycle from bid strategy and budget tracking to standardizing estimating procedures. You will contribute to winning new work and supporting project success by delivering well-coordinated, competitive estimates that reflect our high standards of craftsmanship and efficiency. Team Leadership & Development: coach and develop the estimating team; review estimators’ performance; manage department KPIs. Bid Management & Oversight: evaluate bid invitations; assign projects; prepare and submit competitive bid proposals; revise estimates as needed; coordinate input from departments, subcontractors, and suppliers; maintain bid log and estimating database. Client & Stakeholder Communication: serve as primary contact during proposals; maintain client relationships; participate in pre- and post-bid meetings; coordinate with senior leadership on strategic decisions; review awarded contracts against bid documents. Process & Quality Control: standardize estimating processes; conduct desk reviews; ensure proper documentation and change-order tracking (e.g., Procore); coordinate material submittals, procurement, and scheduling with Operations; support handoff to Project Management when awarded. Cost Analysis & Optimization: review quotations for alignment with cost expectations; analyze data for cost efficiencies; monitor economic trends and assess risk; apply cost engineering techniques. Additional Responsibilities: assist with building permit submissions as needed; promote company services to clients. Qualifications
Experience & Education: 5+ years in construction estimating or related leadership; High School Diploma or GED required (construction management or business coursework a plus). Leadership & Team Management: proven ability to mentor and develop estimating teams; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Communication & Client Relations: excellent written and verbal communication; client-focused with proposal presentation and relationship-building skills. Analytical & Technical Expertise: strong numerical and analytical skills; detail-oriented; capable of evaluating bid proposals and change orders; experience managing supplier relationships and adapting to material lead times. Regulatory & Documentation Proficiency: ability to interpret technical documents and government regulations; capable of writing reports and documentation. Software & Technology: proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project; advanced experience with On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, and Procore. Industry Knowledge: strong knowledge of industry standards, estimating methodologies, and ability to research and present proposals. Benefits
