Summary Sambatek is currently seeking a Project Engineer to work with a team to execute water resources design for transportation and land development projects. As a project engineer, you would be responsible for the design and the implementation of hydraulic/hydrologic design, as well as developing and enforcing design best management practices. If hired as a project engineer, you would display entry-level aptitude in the responsibilities outlined below.
Responsibilities
Contribute to transportation and land development projects in preliminary design phase and plan development phase
Measure, calculate, and tabulate quantities for bidding purposes
Participate in quality review processes
Perform CAD drafting in MicroStation, GEOPAK, and OpenRoads Designer
Support project production to advance deliverables towards project goals under the direction of task leads or project managers, as part of a collaborative team
Complete and review water resources calculations, modeling, and reports
Maintain existing client relationships by providing exceptional service and quality deliverables
Receive constructive feedback, technical and professional mentoring from senior project engineers, task leads, and project managers
Work within a collaborative team that promotes and fosters excellent communication, inter-departmental interaction, and respect for all project team members
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
0-4 years of relevant experience (minimum 3 months previous experience)
EIT in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering (or ability to attain within 6 months)
Proficient in basic concepts of hydrologic and hydraulics design
Aptitude to learn Bentley MicroStation, GEOPAK, and OpenRoads Designer
Basic knowledge of hydrologic & hydraulic modeling software
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Work is primarily performed in an office environment
Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
Benefits and Compensation
Expected start date: January 2026
Work Location: Hybrid, in office for training phase
Pay Rate: Hourly with overtime rate of 1.5x base pay for all hours worked over 40 in a week
Compensation Range: $31.25-37.00 per hour (Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications)
