Project Engineer – Water Resources

Summary We are seeking a Project Engineer to work with a team to execute water resources design for transportation and land development projects. The role includes hydraulic/hydrologic design and the implementation of best‑management practices.
Responsibilities
Contribute to transportation and land development projects in preliminary and plan development phases.
Measure, calculate, and tabulate quantities for bidding purposes.
Participate in quality review processes.
Perform proficient CAD drafting in MicroStation, GEOPAK, and OpenRoads Designer.
Design and lead production of subtasks/tasks for task leads or project managers.
Complete and review water resources calculations, modeling, and reports.
Maintain client relationships by delivering exceptional service and quality deliverables.
Provide technical and professional mentoring to developing professionals (EITs/Graduate Engineers).
Work within a collaborative team that promotes excellent communication and inter‑departmental interaction.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
4‑8 years of relevant experience.
Minnesota PE license in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
Proficient in basic hydraulics and hydrology design, preferably with advanced experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Bentley MicroStation, GEOPAK, and/or Autodesk Civil 3D.
Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer.
Experience with hydro‑hydraulic modeling (HydroCAD, HEC‑RAS, XP‑SWMM).
Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Compensation
Hourly rate: $38‑$52 per hour (based on location and qualifications).
Overtime at 1.5× base pay for hours over 40 in a week.
