Overview
Lunar Fluid Components and Tubing, Design Engineer III - Lunar Permanence Join to apply for the Lunar Fluid Components and Tubing, Design Engineer III - Lunar Permanence role at Blue Origin. This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. We are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. We are looking for a cryogenic propulsion hardware design engineer to design and build portions of the fluids & propulsion systems for the MK2 Crew Lander, including tubing and mounting hardware. You will own CAD models and coordinate analysis and manufacturing development through the complete life cycle: conceptual design, detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and operation. You may mentor entry level engineers and perform technical peer reviews. Bring your technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Generating CAD models for cryogenic fluid system hardware Leading design for manufacturability efforts for fluid component assemblies Performing configuration and packaging optimizations Performing structural analysis on fluid system hardware
Qualifications
B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field 8+ years of experience designing tubes and fluid components, creating 3D models and drawings in CREO Professional experience specifying fluid fittings and mounts Experience performing complex stack-ups, structural hand calculations, and basic analysis with tools such as ANSYS Experience interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) Expertise in ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Desired
Experience with ProEngineer/Creo, Windchill, and ProPiping Professional experience performing detailed static and dynamic structural analysis of fluid components Professional experience with cryogenic systems
Compensation
Compensation ranges vary by location; for example CA applicants: $117,498.00-$164,497.20; CO applicants: $107,707.00-$150,789.45; WA applicants: $117,498.00-$164,497.20. Other site ranges may differ.
