M.C. Dean's Electrical and Construction business unit is seeking a Project Engineer 3 to join our team in Richmond, VA, supporting a large 1,320,000 SF data center project. In this role, you will ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions, troubleshoot installation problems, and develop practical solutions to complex problems. Responsibilities
Key Functions: Planning and maintaining project budget and schedule. Forecasting manpower needs in relation to budget and schedule. Monitoring cash flow against expenses. Establishing labor and productivity rates. Identifying value-added solutions and cost-saving methods. Managing change orders, including pricing and tracking. Resolving change order issues effectively. Maintaining as-built documentation during project execution. Documenting project issues and conditions. Keeping organized and detailed project records. Submitting hours and cost codes accurately. Planning and executing project completion and punch list items. Preparing specifications for materials and equipment procurement. Preparing invoices and submitting O&M manuals. Developing comprehensive estimates. Conducting Key Project Reviews (KPR). Developing safety plans. Managing daily project operations or subsections. Overseeing design development logs and compliance matrices. Managing coordination, detailing logs, and schedules. Updating project schedules regularly. Producing productivity reports. Identifying additional value and cost savings. Participating actively in Project Kick-Off Meetings. Assisting with field inspections and productivity tracking. Gaining familiarity with the Materials Requisition System. Qualifications
Required: 5+ years of experience as a project engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (preferably ABET-accredited) or 3+ years with a Master's/MS degree. Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred. Abilities
Ability to work with extended computer screen time. Ability to sit for prolonged periods. Reach by extending hands or arms. Finger dexterity for manipulating objects like keyboards. Effective listening and comprehension skills. Clear verbal communication skills. Ability to read and understand written information. Applying general rules to solve specific problems. Understanding and interpreting others' speech.
