Must have a valid passport and driver’s license in good standing that includes REAL-ID. Responsibilities
Troubleshoots and repairs injection molding machines and robots, including testing and inspecting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic or software components; performs calibrations to optimize performance. Performs software and hardware installations. Performs safety checks on equipment. Educates customers on equipment and proper operation. Manages resolution of customer issues, including ordering and installing replacement parts as necessary. Diagnoses control system problems and develops an organized approach to solving machine problems; repairs/replaces parts as required. Instructs other Service Technicians and/or customer operators on maintenance and safe operation of injection molding systems. Communicates with Central Service/Manufacturing/Parts Center to obtain answers to field problems. Provides written reports to the Service Manager on a regular basis. Qualifications
Educational/Training High School Diploma Required Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred Experience 5+ years in injection molding troubleshooting or processing, or prior experience as a Field Service Injection Molding Technician/Service Engineer Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems Experience with injection molding machines; strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and computer skills; ability to train customers and employees Knowledge of injection molding processes Systematic problem-solving abilities Knowledge of microprocessor programming Familiarity with materials such as PET, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Styrene, and other common plastics Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to handle difficult customers with tact Independent worker who can operate with minimal back-office support Familiarity with ENGEL machines and robots preferred Benefits & Requirements
