Base pay range $50.00/hr - $80.00/hr
Position Mechanical Engineer
Location: Hybrid – remote and on site in Alexandria, VA on Tuesdays.

Key Responsibilities
Work with ELES staff to create standard operating procedures (SOPs) for elevator and escalator modernization.
Create work plans for elevator and escalator modernization.
Develop a data-driven predictive maintenance program in collaboration with ELES staff.
Develop assessment criteria for Transportation Authority’s vertical transportation assets.
Conduct comprehensive condition assessments on vertical transportation equipment and provide detailed reports of findings.
Coordinate with Transportation Authority personnel to accomplish tasks assigned.
Prepare lists of materials needed, and action items needed to complete tasks.
Respond to Transportation Authority questions related to this scope.
Provide draft copies of all documents to relevant stakeholders prior to finalization.
Respond to Transportation Authority comments regarding draft documents.
Attend all required meetings.
Other duties as assigned by Transportation Authority Task Manager
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or related field.
A minimum of 10 years’ demonstrable experience managing large, complex projects that include mechanical, structural, or electrical infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
Registration as a Professional Engineer in one of the signatory jurisdictions of the Transportation Authority, i.e., District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia
Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or Certified Supply Chain Manager (CSCM) and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
