Overview
Senior Process Engineer (LNG, Team Lead) at KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides leadership for process engineering on large LNG projects, from concept through detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning. This role leads and mentors a team of process engineers and drives technical excellence to deliver process engineering scope on multi-billion-dollar projects. Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management
Lead and manage a group of process engineers, providing technical direction, mentoring, and performance feedback.
Coordinate workload distribution, resource planning, and staff development within the process engineering team.
Foster collaboration across engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and optimized project solutions.
Technical Expertise
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in LNG liquefaction, regasification, storage, and associated utility systems.
Oversee process simulations, heat & material balances, equipment sizing, and PFD/P&ID development.
Review and approve key engineering deliverables, including process design packages, specifications, and datasheets.
Provide guidance on process safety, operability, and reliability in design.
Project Execution
Support project development through all phases, including feasibility studies, FEED, detailed engineering, and EPC execution.
Interface with clients, licensors, and vendors to align on technical requirements and ensure compliance with project objectives.
Lead technical risk assessments, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL studies, and other process safety reviews.
Ensure deliverables meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements for large capital projects.
Business & Strategic Impact
Contribute to technology evaluations, value engineering, and optimization studies for LNG processes.
Support business development efforts by providing technical input on proposals, estimates, and client presentations.
Champion innovation and continuous improvement in process engineering practices.
Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
10+ years of process engineering experience, with at least 5 years in LNG design and operations.
Proven experience leading engineering teams on large-scale (> $500MM) capital projects, preferably LNG liquefaction or regasification.
Strong knowledge of process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II).
Demonstrated expertise in process safety and regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
