Position Summary: Reliability Engineering Manager
Location: Valley Green, PA
Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high-speed, high-bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products enable the electronics revolution and are key for major Tier 1 OEMs worldwide. We are seeking an experienced Reliability Engineering Manager to join our team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive product robustness, ensure compliance with standards, and lead efforts to predict, detect, and eliminate product failure risks across the lifecycle.
Develop test sequences and procedures to assess long-term reliability of cable and connector assemblies considering customer use.
Ensure timely completion of engineering tasks within the team.
Mentor and train engineering staff, fostering growth within the organization.
Coordinate with peers to share best practices and improve processes.
Lead reliability test plan development and execution for new products and changes.
Define qualification strategies aligned with application and customer needs.
Conduct failure mode analysis (FMEA), DfR, HALT/HASS to improve product robustness.
Establish and monitor reliability metrics (FIT, DPPM, MTBF, escape rates).
Collaborate with Design, Test, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to address reliability risks early.
Oversee environmental, mechanical, and electrical stress testing.
Partner with suppliers and contract manufacturers for compliance and qualification.
Lead root cause analysis of failures and implement corrective actions.
Manage and mentor reliability engineers and technicians.
Prepare and present technical reports to stakeholders and customers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
5+ years in reliability or product engineering, with 2+ years in a managerial role.
Knowledge of reliability prediction models and return data analysis.
Experience with modeling tools like Pro/E or SolidWorks is a plus.
Experience with data analysis software such as MS Excel and Minitab is a plus.
Experience developing mechanical and environmental test plans for high-speed electrical connectors.
Deep understanding of electrical connectors; experience with High-Speed product testing protocols is a plus.
Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis tools; ANSYS experience is a plus.
Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
Knowledge of copper alloys and high-performance thermoplastics is a plus.
