Position Summary: Mechanical Integrity Test Engineer
Location: Nashua, NH
Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high-speed, high-bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products enable the electronics revolution and are key for major Tier 1 OEMs globally. Our headquarters are in Nashua, NH, with global design, sales, and manufacturing locations. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Integrity Test Engineer to join our Product Development team in Nashua, NH.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the development of new products through testing and data analysis.
Support mechanical testing and qualification of electrical and opto-electronic cable assemblies and components.
Develop test sequences and procedures to assess long-term reliability considering customer use and application requirements.
Analyze testing results and prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in mechanical analysis, failure analysis, and test plan creation for product design.
Prepare test samples, design and fabricate test fixtures, and coordinate with test lab technicians.
Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to develop and validate prototypes, pilot production, and interface with beta-site customers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5-10 years of experience.
Experience with solid modeling tools such as Pro/E or SolidWorks.
Experience with data analysis software like MS Excel or Minitab.
Experience developing test plans for mechanical and environmental stresses of high-speed electrical connectors.
Experience with testing protocols in automotive or consumer industries is a plus.
Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
Team-oriented mindset.
Interest in creating and designing setups, fixtures, and processes.
Knowledge of copper alloys and high-performance thermoplastics is advantageous.
Basic understanding of electrical connectors.
Excellent problem-solving, test management, and documentation skills.
