Oribi Manufacturing 5850 East 56th Avenue, Commerce City CO 80022 Job Duties: Utilize theories and principles of mechanical, industrial, and electrical engineering to perform mechanical and system design. Research, conceptualize, design, evaluate, iterate, and monitor complex processes, systems and other mechanical designs. Fully support the research & development team in development, implementation, and improvement of processes, machinery and maintain a high proficiency in industrial automation/robotic controls, CAD software, and machinery programming software. Research and develop innovative system designs, build proof-of-concept, perform structural static/dynamic calculations, thermal/fluid calculation, validate using simulations & experimentation and test components & mechanical systems to ensure it meets design specifications, and implement cost-effective modifications to help improve safety and reliability. Produce details of specifications and outline designs, and recommend modifications by applying analytical, research, conceptual and planning skills, particularly mathematical and computer-aided design. Adhere to the Research & Development Plan. This requires expertise in mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, programming as well as automation and robotics. Develop a solid understanding of composite part design and composite processing technologies. Extensive expertise in industrial robotic programming, PLC logic and programming. Developing skills with waterjet trimming, manual machining, and CNC machining. Perform accurate, detailed site surveys, develop contract documents, and design process control techniques to assure quality procedures throughout the project cycle. Perform computations and analysis using HPC and other electronic devices to build numerical tools and methods to ensure accuracy and efficiency in design specifications, as well as facilitating changes to existing designs. Research and evaluate customers’ engineering needs to determine precisely what mechanical functions are necessary to perform. Discuss and solve complex problems with other professionals within the engineering sector, with sub-contractors, suppliers and customers. Evaluate the design’s overall performance, budget, timing, and safety. Identify, formulate, and produce effective solutions to potential problems with the design. Design and conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Alter and modify the design specifications to meet requirements and eliminate malfunctions. Review engineering and mechanical designs to determine the causes of breakdowns. Investigate design failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations for improvement. Iterate on equipment designs based on failures, to improve future design and function. Investigate process challenges and problem areas and work with management to correct. Perform corrective actions as assigned by management or the Research & Development Team. Comply with company documentation procedures. Prepare and maintain thorough documentation for all aspects of assigned projects. Follow safety instructions and industry specific safety procedures in the execution of assigned tasks. Minimum Education:
