Join the Sentinel Program's Command and Control (C2) Hardware Engineering team, supporting a team of Hardware, Electrical, and Mechanical responsible engineers in the design of a diverse set of custom and commercial-off-the-shelf systems and components. Incorporate edits and redlines to existing designs. Facilitate ingestion of supplier drawings into the Sentinel program workflow. Develop basic data and preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes to present design proposals. Investigate design factors such as ease of manufacture, material availability, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost. Coordinate with other organizations affected by design development. Create layouts of complex assemblies and detail parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures. Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning. Identify design errors or deficiencies and recommend revisions and improvements to responsible engineers or designers. Basic Qualifications

Design Engineering: Bachelors in Science degree plus 2 years of relevant experience, or a Masters degree with 0 years of work experience. In lieu of formal degree – an additional 4 years of experience may be considered. Principal Design Engineering: Bachelors in Science degree plus 5 years of relevant experience, or a Masters degree with 3 years of relevant experience. In lieu of formal degree – an additional 4 years of experience may be considered. Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval within a reasonable period of time. Must have at least 1 year of experience generating 3-D CAD models of components and assemblies using tools such as Siemens NX. Familiarity with industry standards for mechanical modeling and engineering release such as ASME Y14.2. Preferred Qualifications

At least 1 year of experience generating and releasing engineering artifacts into Product Lifecycle Management systems such as Siemens TeamCenter. Previous Sentinel experience. Existing SAP approval. Previous DoD program experience in identifying and applying hardware design requirements from interface, compliance, and performance documents. Experience with Northrop Grumman hardware/mechanical design processes and principles, such as E110P and E275M. Salary and Benefits

Colorado Springs Pay Range: Design Engineer: Min: $73,900 - Max: $110,900; Principal Design Engineer: Min: $91,200 - Max: $136,800. Notes: The above salary range represents a general guideline and may vary based on scope, experience, and market conditions. Eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses where applicable.
