Henneman Engineering is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Champaign, Illinois office. You'll have the opportunity to be a part of the mechanical design of exciting, cutting-edge projects in the healthcare, municipal, and higher education industries in Illinois and beyond!
Responsibilities:
Perform work as a senior mechanical engineer in all aspects of project development, including client coordination, pre-design services, final design services, meetings, site visits, RFIs, change orders, and overall project management.
Conceptualize the initial process, mechanical, and plumbing design approach for projects, having overall responsibility for the engineering and/or design work related to process, mechanical and plumbing systems, and code requirements.
Conduct existing conditions surveys and prepare PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, sections, elevations, and details as appropriate to document relevant conditions.
Organize/prepare/review mechanical and plumbing construction drawings (PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, sections, elevations, and details as appropriate), technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
Develop engineering solutions and designs, cost estimates, bill of materials, and schedules for projects.
Have knowledge of applicable codes and standards related to mechanical, piping, and plumbing systems.

Heating, Ventilation, & Air-Conditioning Systems
Water / Wastewater Systems
Equipment Specification, Evaluation, & Selection
Life Cycle Cost Analysis & Energy Modeling
Qualifications:
4-Year Mechanical Engineering bachelor's degree from an accredited University in the United States. Professional Engineer license in Illinois is highly preferred.
10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a design and consulting firm such as ours. Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design is highly preferred.
