Come join the team at Henneman Engineering! Henneman provides comprehensive engineering solutions and consulting services to a broad base of clients. We provide mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, process, and controls engineering to clients in the government, higher education, healthcare, and manufacturing industries.
Henneman currently has a position open for an experienced mechanical engineer for a role in our Champaign, IL office. Ideally the candidate works in-office, but we are open to hybrid and remote arrangements.
Responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Engineer:
Perform work as a senior mechanical engineer in all aspects of project development, including client coordination, pre-design services, final design services, meetings, site visits, and project management.
Conduct existing conditions surveys and prepare PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, sections, and details as appropriate to document relevant conditions.
Conceptualize the initial process, mechanical, and plumbing design approach for projects, having overall responsibility for the engineering and/or design work related to process, mechanical and plumbing systems, and code requirements.
Coordinate, design, and schedule with other disciplines, such as architectural, structural, electrical, and controls to resolve a variety of complex problems (i.e., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements).
Organize and prepare process, mechanical, and plumbing construction drawings (PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, sections, elevations, and details as appropriate), technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
Develop engineering solutions and designs, cost estimates, bill of materials, and schedules for projects.
Have knowledge of applicable codes and standards related to mechanical, piping, and plumbing systems.
Qualifications:
Education: 4-Year Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited engineering school in the United States. Professional Engineer license is required.
Experience :
15+ years as a Mechanical Engineer in a similar MEP firm. Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is required.
