Responsible for Substation Engineering, including detailed physical design for high voltage substation projects up to 500kV. Responsibilities
Develop one-line drawings, SCADA, communications, conduit/cable sizing, substation physical layout, protective relaying, lightning and surge protection, and select substation equipment. Create specifications and support RFQ and PO processes. Coordinate commissioning, start-up activities, and provide onsite construction support as needed. Manage work of other I&E engineers and designers on projects. Engage in testing of switchgear, transformers, relaying, and motor control centers. Provide electrical engineering for substations and industrial projects in midstream gas processing, refining, petrochemical, and upstream oil & gas industries. Apply design knowledge in medium and low voltage power distribution, grounding, lighting, motor control, and variable frequency drives. Conduct power studies such as ground grid analysis, load flow, short circuit, relay coordination, and arc flash analysis. Interact with engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients. Contribute to project scheduling and resource planning. Apply engineering design principles and research design options. Minimum Requirements
B.S. in Electrical Engineering 10+ years' experience preferred P.E. license required Proven knowledge of grounding, lightning, surge protection, relaying, switchgear, and breaker control Experience with 480V to 500kV substation equipment and SKM tools or similar software Familiarity with federal and state regulations, NESC, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and API standards Ability to travel up to 10% Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Additional Information
