Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. We are looking for talented technicians to help full-scale production of the Kuiper satellites. The success of Kuiper depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of the products that you deliver. Key job responsibilities include: Follow work instructions and safety procedures Assemble and test with emphasis to detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds Participate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory Independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated Support some preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients Contribute to improving SOPs and safety procedures Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Additional Requirements: Willing to work 4/10s as assigned Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed Flexible working/commuting in between site locations Redmond, WA and Kirkland, WA Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position Able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted Basic Qualifications: 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings Preferred Qualifications: Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certification/license CFOT certification or equivalent experience Airman or Avionic certification or equivalent experience ASE certification or equivalent experience Experience in fast-paced production environment with flight hardware Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements Experience working with Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration, Fiber Optics/Optical and/or Harness Integration Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment Expert knowledge and certification in rigging and lifting equipment Experience in rigging and lifting equipment inspection and maintenance Experience rigging related safety measures Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
