Job Description
Overview The Massage Therapist administers professional deep tissue massage, clinical massages, and other specialty bodywork. They must have a thorough knowledge of numerous massage modalities, possess a general understanding of body physiology and be willing to train in Redmint urban wellness sanctuary specific massage and body treatments. They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness solutions to meet the needs of our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
Be on time for your shift, possess excellent time management skills that can perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.
Ability to perform at least 5 deep tissue massages within a 6-hour shift.
Possess knowledge of various massage techniques to manipulate soft tissues and muscles such as deep tissues, Swedish, lymphatic and sports massages.
Provide consistent professional massage and/or body treatment in accordance with Redmint’s standards and accepted certification practices.
Develop treatment plans based on client’s conditions and goals.
Ability to monitor clients’ reaction to the massage and adjust techniques as necessary.
Educate clients on the benefits of massage and how to incorporate into their self-care routine.
Care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure that all equipment is properly sanitized. Perform prep work, clean and restock room as required.
Actively promote Redmint, treatments, memberships, services and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
Qualifications
Passionate about holistic healing, wellness and self-care routines.
Customer service mindset and focus on delivering outstanding experiences.
Able to perform therapeutic deep healing bodywork such as deep tissue and other specialty massages.
Team player with excellent communication and listening skills.
Hold and maintain a current California state license, and current liability insurance for Massage Therapy.
Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
Adhere to professional ethical standards and maintain confidentiality of clients and company.
Minimum of three years’ experience. Advanced degree preferred.
Have weekend and/or night shift availability, be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of Redmint.
