Overview Director of Membership & Community Outreach at Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce. 32 Hrs/week; wage range $20-$22/hr plus ad sales commission; paid time off. Potential for a full-time position after 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

Role: Primary lead in growing & retaining membership by introducing businesses to the value of joining the organization & building strong relationships with current members to support retention efforts.

Develop marketing collateral to promote the Chamber, members, & events, assist in securing Chamber sponsorships & encourage participation at all Chamber events.

Recruit new members, focusing on the business/organization\'s needs via phone calls, in-person meetings, & utilizing business recruitment list; manage all aspects of on-boarding.

Communicate with staff to track & schedule all deliverable benefits (e.g., sending content for eBlasts, Member Spotlights, social media posts).

Interact daily with members in-person, via phone, Zoom, Google Meet, & email.

Work with the Executive Director to create & develop collateral for the execution of membership recruitment/retention tasks, including introductory letters & programs for memberships, sponsorships, & committee communication.

Assist in the creation & packaging of new member information & welcome packets.

Input all communications and data in CRM to ensure accuracy, track join/drop reasons & ongoing communication, and ensure information meets the needs of the Chamber team.

Monitor DBA lists on a monthly basis.

Maintain information keeping data up-to-date for invoicing.

Monitor & track outstanding accounts, ensuring timely collection of dues from members; resolve aging receivables by collaborating with members for timely payments.

Assist in organizing logistics & help manage Chamber events to maximize revenue, attendance, & community involvement.

Oversee the Ambassador program; recruit committee members & Chamber Ambassadors, create quarterly meeting agenda/minutes, & create collateral for the program.

Identify opportunities for sponsorships, event venues, & partnership opportunities.

Represent the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber at events, meetings, & on committees as needed.

Interact with visitors and respond to questions from the public, members, & the city/county offices when necessary.

Responsible for promotion & sales for Newsline & Destination One Ads.

Work with Newsline Editor to create monthly content.

Promote Chamber Check Program to members to encourage participation.

Attend & assist staff at Chamber events, such as networking meetings & major events.

Support the Executive Director, Chamber Staff & Board of Directors as required; report to Board of Directors monthly.

Attend meetings & trainings as required.

Create quarterly & yearly goals with the Executive Director, and complete quarterly & year-end goal review & self-reflection assessments.

Qualifications

Associates Degree in Business Administration Required; BA Degree in Business, Communications, or Marketing preferred.

2+ years of customer service and/or sales experience. Formal sales skills training a plus.

Professional phone and communications skills required.

Experience with Zoom, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher), Google Applications, Adobe, & CRM software programs.

Excellent communication skills.

Volunteer experience.

NYS Driver's license & reliable transportation.

Monday-Friday (occasional weekends & evenings, depending on events).
