Overview
Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary. This role is with Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care and GoHealth Urgent Care, offering a Sign On Bonus up to $15,000 for full-time external candidates. Responsibilities
Examining and treating patients Taking patients’ medical histories Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays Making diagnoses and prescribing medications Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting Recording progress notes for follow-up patients Educating and counseling patients Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care Each provider will work an anticipated four (4), eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift as assigned All other duties as assigned Qualifications
Bachelor\'s Degree required for Physician Assistants Master\'s Degree required for Nurse Practitioners 2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience required Minimum 18 months experience in applicable practice setting Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred National Certification Active state medical licensure Required Licenses/Certifications
National Certification Active state medical licensure Additional Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting Applicable office procedures including suturing, splinting, etc. Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records (preferred) Strong listening, communication and customer service skills Essential Functions
