The Nurse Director is responsible 24 hours, 7 days a week for the operations and function of their assigned nursing unit/units. The Director is accountable for the management of clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery; the management of human, fiscal, and other resources; the development of personnel; compliance with regulatory and professional standards, strategic planning, and the fostering of interdisciplinary collaborative relationships within the areas of responsibility and the hospital as a whole. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation within areas as assigned. Manages the overall operations in accordance with hospital administered policies, standards of nursing practices, and governmental regulations, providing the highest level of care for all patients. Promotes patient/family focused care as the highest priority and strives to meet customer expectations for quality and satisfaction. Provides administrative and financial accountability for planning, directing, staffing, coordinating, and controlling functions, and activities, delegating authority as necessary. Manages and meets financial performance targets including revenue performance and controls spending of departmental budget. Understands regulatory compliance issues which affect the system and department, including OSHA, DCF, TJC, EEOC, CDC, ACHA, etc. Oversees all unit/area activities to ensure operations are safe, efficient, and effective for both patient/families and customers. Utilizes performance management expertise to facilitate the achievement of department goals. Initiates and implements policies and procedures to ensure that standards of care and service are clearly understood and followed by all staff members. Education, Experience And Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. Master’s Degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of RN experience required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Licensed as Registered Nurse in the State of Florida. Analytical, motivational, and strategic planning skills required. Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows. NCH is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
