We are seeking an experienced and visionary
Area Director of Engineering
to lead the engineering and facilities operations across multiple Cincinnati hotels within Pyramid Global Hospitality. This role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, compliance, sustainability, and guest satisfaction through strategic oversight of engineering teams at the property level. The Area Director of Engineering will partner closely with General Managers and the Area Managing Director to develop and implement engineering standards, preventative maintenance programs, capital planning, and safety initiatives that align with our People First culture and commitment to exceptional service. Provide strategic leadership and operational direction for engineering departments across assigned hotels, ensuring consistency and excellence in all facilities operations. Oversee capital projects, renovations, and asset management; collaborate with ownership groups and corporate support to align investments with brand standards. Develop and implement area preventative maintenance programs, energy-saving initiatives, and sustainability practices. Ensure regulatory compliance across all properties including OSHA, fire/life safety, and environmental standards. Mentor, coach, and support property Directors of Engineering and engineering teams, fostering professional development and succession planning. Partner with hotel leadership teams to enhance guest satisfaction scores related to property condition and maintenance response. Lead regular site visits, audits, and inspections to monitor adherence to company standards, identifying opportunities for improvement. Analyze and manage area engineering budgets, driving efficiency without compromising quality. Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring associates have the tools, training, and resources to perform their jobs effectively. Qualifications
Minimum 7-10 years of engineering leadership experience in hospitality, facilities management, or a related field; multi-property oversight strongly preferred. Proven expertise in capital project management, budgeting, and asset protection. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems as well as building automation systems. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a multi-property environment. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Commitment to safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
