The Opportunity
Our client is a Chicago-based private investment firm, and is seeking a Private Equity Associate or Senior Associate
to join its investment team. The firm invests flexible, long-term capital across Industrials, Transportation & Distribution, Services etc., focusing on control buyout and structured minority transactions with founder-led and family-owned businesses. This is an opportunity to join a highly entrepreneurial, disciplined investment team with a strong record of value creation. You’ll be involved in every stage of the investment lifecycle—from origination and due diligence to portfolio company strategy and exit execution. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and thrives in a lean, analytical environment where initiative and judgment are valued. Required
2–5 years of experience in investment banking, or direct private equity, with a focus on the industrials sector. Strong analytical foundation and modeling skills; proven experience executing transactions end-to-end. Clear communication, thoughtful judgment, and comfort in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment. Genuine interest in private investing and working closely with founders and management teams. Key Responsibilities
Evaluate new investment opportunities, conduct detailed financial and operational due diligence, and build complex financial models. Develop investment theses, prepare materials for Investment Committee review, and support deal execution. Partner with portfolio company management teams to drive strategic and operational initiatives. Support the team in sector research, pipeline development, and long-term platform growth.
