Topcon Positioning System is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of a Lead Software Engineer.
Work location: TOPCON Office located in Bologna (Italy).
The job can be performed 100% remote (Italy), with visit to our Bologna office once a week.
Responsibilities
Lead architecture, UI layout and UI flows in cross-platform QT-based applications.
Implement new features and fix defects.
Participate in full life cycle development of MAGNET products, deliver source code.
Cross-platform C++ development for Android, iOS, Linux, and Windows (Qt/QML, NDK).
Primary development is on Windows, with the application also running on Android, iOS, Linux.
Analyze requirements, clarify tasks, propose optimal solutions, and estimate workload.
Develop software architecture, implement UI with Qt/QML, and maintain existing code.
Collaborate with the project manager and software team to plan and manage delivery schedules.
Follow and implement software processes.
Attend team meetings and functions.
Minimum Qualifications
University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
5+ years of professional experience in C++ development, with a focus on Qt and QML.
Overall software development experience for at least 8 years.
Experience in software development process implementation.
Experience with software development tools (configuration management, design, emulation, debugging, compilers, test, etc.).
Experience with GNSS and/or Optical Survey is a plus.
Experience with software development for Android is required for the role.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of SQLite and experience with databases (design and queries).
Experience in cross-platform application development and GUI frameworks.
3D graphics/geometry programming experience is a plus.
Experience with MFC/Visual Studio.
Knowledge of Java and experience in native iOS/Android APIs and development.
Experience in development tools, version control, and code quality control.
Experience in software architecture design and design patterns.
A good command of English language (written and spoken) is required.
