Midwest Steel, the nation’s leading Structural Steel contractor, is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer. The company has a history of stability and success building projects in various industries nationwide, with customers including Fastenal, Nestle, H.E.B. Grocery, Peterbilt, and First Quality. The Lead Structural Engineer role offers the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the steel construction industry and technical specialization in erection engineering. The position involves working closely with the Engineering Manager, Pre-Construction Team, Project Management Team, and Project Field Team to support the safe and efficient erection of structural steel. Key responsibilities include analyzing structures during erection to maintain stability and potentially performing other construction engineering tasks, such as designing temporary shoring, lifting beams, and erection aids. Occasional travel to project sites and attendance at industry events are also part of the role. Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural focus 7+ years of experience in the engineering industry, preferably in structural steel Proficiency in design and analysis of structural steel buildings and steel design codes Experience with Structural Steel Erection Engineering, Rigging Engineering, RISA 3D, AutoCAD, and Revit Creative, results-oriented, and self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills Compensation and Benefits
