Amazon Web Services (AWS) . Description The AWS Launch Wizard team is focused on automating the provisioning of commercial software applications using Amazon Web Services. Our mission is to make AWS the best place to deploy enterprise applications in the Cloud. We aim to simplify enterprise application provisioning with minimal effort, eliminating the need for extensive AWS learning. We achieve this through infrastructure as code and configuration scripts that build fully operational commercial applications ready for production use. We are seeking an experienced systems development engineer with expertise in automation for infrastructure provisioning and software configuration. As part of the Launch Wizard team, you will work with innovative technologies to automate provisioning solutions for diverse enterprise customers at AWS scale. The ideal candidate will have experience and a passion for solving complex challenges through simplified design and software engineering solutions. This position involves being part of the operational team with weekly on-call responsibilities every 6 to 8 weeks. On-call duties include responding to customer issues, reviewing operational metrics, and enhancing operational excellence. We prioritize root cause resolution to prevent recurring issues, and schedules are adjusted for personal commitments. Basic Qualifications 4+ years of experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineering 2+ years of professional software development experience 1+ years designing or architecting systems (design patterns, reliability, scaling) Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby Preferred Qualifications Experience with PowerShell, Python, Ruby, or Java Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments Experience automating systems with Desired State Configuration (DSC) Experience utilizing AWS cloud solutions in a DevOps context Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
