$77,000.00/hr - $92,000.00/hr Job summary

The Project Estimator is responsible for the estimating of landscape construction, including calculating material costs and creating estimates for labor, material, and equipment required to build the job. The Project Estimator will work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Superintendents. Minimum qualifications

Education : Bachelor’s degree in accounting, mathematics, construction, architecture, engineering, horticulture or related field, or 4 years related experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements. Experience : Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial construction estimating; proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with estimating software platforms (On-Screen Takeoff, B2W, Bluebeam); proven bid-to-contract conversions. License or Certification : As required by state and federal law; valid driver license in the state of employment. Specialized skills : Professional demeanor with staff and clients; ability to foster a positive and collaborative team environment; ability to prioritize workload in a high-volume market; ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines; ability to work independently; detail-oriented and highly organized; strong verbal and written communication skills. Essential duties

Assist with the management of workflow and systems Train and mentor Estimator and Estimator Trainees Bid Private and Public Works projects Check client planroom for updated documents Collaborate with Senior Estimator Understand wage determinations for target markets Bid complex and large-scale projects including podium and rooftop work Sign and adhere to Non-Disclosure Agreements on confidential projects Incorporate client-issued documents into bid process (ITB, SOW, Bid Form, Schedule, Specifications, etc.) Build qualified vendor and subcontractor networks to ensure competitive pricing Descoping subcontractor proposals and understanding associated risk Build cost estimates in bid and budget environments Determine appropriate markups per job type and scope of work Attend pre-bid and post-scope review meetings with clients Package projects with all scopes of work for management review Provide risk assessment and suggestions to alleviate risk exposure Review and contribute to value-added pricing opportunities Complete proposals and bid packages per predefined strategy Accountable for complete project estimate and successful operational turnover Build trust-based professional relationships aligned with Core Values Other duties as assigned Physical requirements
