Bechtel is the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partner on the Northrop Grumman team to deliver the Sentinel Program, which is modernizing the ground-based leg of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad, including intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) systems and launch infrastructure. Job Summary
This position is for a Civil Engineer who will prepare designs for earthwork, underground commodities, roads, foundations, and profiles associated with DOD and USAF projects. Major Responsibilities
Development of grading and backfill design and drawings. Road design and design documents. Foundation design and drawings. Assist with boring oversight and site inspection and review of existing facilities. Perform formal calculations and drawings. Review vendor information from subcontractors and integrate it into the design solution. Execute to schedule requirement while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product. Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team. Education And Experience Requirements
Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience. Must have completed a minimum of 4 years of active-duty military service in the United States Armed Forces, with an honorable discharge. Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education. Engineer-in-training (EIT) or Registered Profession Engineer (P.E.) or ability to be obtained within 12 months. Required Knowledge And Skills
Experience using Civil3D. Experience with Microsoft office programs, VISIO, and other common computer programs. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Ability to utilize office automation tools effectively. Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards, as well as Bechtel Corporate guides and standards. Broad knowledge of the application of Civil engineering design principles. Preferred Qualifications
MS degree in Civil or related Engineering, from an accredited university. Registered Professional Engineer in USA (Civil Engineering). Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000. Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense.
