Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Tooling Engineer to join our team, focusing on the repair, maintenance, and enhancement of molds. This role involves participating in teams to identify and resolve mold issues, encompassing all phases of mold repair from quoting to project management. You will be responsible for creating and analyzing sample requests, incorporating engineering changes into existing molds, and reviewing design changes. Additionally, you will maintain systems to meet current quality standards such as SQF and ISO 9000, review and approve tooling designs, and provide technical support to Manufacturing and Quality departments. Responsibilities
Repair, maintain, and improve molds.
Participate in teams to identify and resolve mold issues.
Manage all phases of mold repair, including quoting repairs and project management.
Create sample requests and analyze sample results.
Incorporate engineering changes into existing molds and review design changes.
Maintain systems to meet quality standards (SQF, ISO 9000, etc.).
Review and approve tooling designs.
Provide technical support for Manufacturing and Quality.
Quote costs and lead times for mold repairs.
Qualifications
Essential Skills
Experience with injection molded plastic parts.
Proficiency in tooling and fixture design.
Knowledge of plastics manufacturing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field.
Experience with injection mold design and manufacturing processes.
4+ years of experience in a plastics background.
Work Environment The position is onsite in Eatontown, with a team of approximately 100 people. You will report to the Director of Operations and spend much of your time on the shop floor with mechanics and engineers. Work schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
Pay and Benefits Pay range: $48.08 - $60.00/hr. Eligible benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k) — with pre-tax and Roth options, HSA, transportation benefits, and PTO/vacation/sick leave. Eligibility and plan terms apply and vary by position and length of employment.
