Senior Mechanical Engineer
– Wheeler Staffing Partners is recruiting on behalf of our client in Plano, TX. Work Arrangement:
100% onsite for the first couple of months, transitioning to hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days WFH). Schedule:

Wheeler Staffing Partners is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer on behalf of our client in Plano, TX. This role requires an experienced engineer with strong project design experience and long tenure in previous positions. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of HVAC, plumbing, gas, chiller, and boiler/furnace room (BFR) systems. Projects primarily focus on municipal facilities, correctional institutions, and fire stations, with select work in education and healthcare. Hydronic design experience is a strong plus. Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of HVAC, gas, chiller, BFR, and plumbing systems. Conduct field assessments and evaluate project scope. Prepare detailed project proposals, manage RFIs, and maintain project documentation. Collaborate with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure project success. Apply extensive design experience in municipal, jail, and fire station projects, along with select education and healthcare projects. Work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Required Skills
Expertise in HVAC, gas, chiller, BFR, and plumbing system design. Strong knowledge of MEP engineering principles. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple projects. Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required. 4+ years of relevant engineering experience in HVAC, plumbing, and gas systems design. Significant project experience in municipal facilities, jails, fire stations, and select education/healthcare projects. Hydronic design experience is a plus (examples include chilled water loops, hot water heating systems, radiant floor heating/cooling, condenser water systems, and geothermal hydronic loops).
