Observability and Automation Engineer role at HUB International. $125,000.00/yr - $145,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain observability integrations across hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud), including metrics collection, logging, alerting, and distributed tracing. Support and extend centralized dashboards and alerting to provide actionable insights in Dynatrace, ServiceNow ITOM, and LogicMonitor. Integrate observability instrumentation into automation workflows and infrastructure deployments for real-time telemetry and proactive monitoring. Provide support, root cause analysis, and iterative improvement for automation and observability incidents; bridge engineering and operations. Evaluate processes for automation opportunities and define, implement, and manage toolsets for self-service, service desk, and infrastructure automation. Build, maintain, and extend Ansible roles/playbooks and Terraform modules in line with IaC standards and governance. Collaborate with Cloud, Infrastructure, and Network teams to automate full-stack lifecycle using IaC and CI/CD pipelines; develop Jenkins pipelines and other automation tools. Develop and maintain automation APIs, CLI tools, and scripts to reduce manual work across infrastructure and operations. Create framework for other IT teams to utilize automation; train staff and share best practices; participate in code reviews and documentation. Qualifications
Experience with observability and automation platforms (ServiceNow ITOM, Dynatrace, LogicMonitor); understanding telemetry standards (OpenTelemetry, SNMP, WMI). Experience with Windows and RHEL in hybrid cloud environments. Proficiency with IaC tooling (Ansible, Terraform) and CI/CD (Jenkins); building reusable modules and pipelines. Strong CI/CD practices; pipelines that support infrastructure lifecycle automation and automated testing. GitHub/Bitbucket version control; secure collaboration. Programming concepts and automation design; experience building CLI tools and working with REST APIs. Languages: Python, .NET, PowerShell, and Go. Frameworks: Django, Flask, FastAPI. SDLC, TDD experience; REST APIs; identity platforms including On-prem and Azure Active Directory and Office 365. Excellent troubleshooting, documentation and cross-functional collaboration.
