Overview

An established manufacturer of industrial thermal processing equipment is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and support electrical systems and controls used in complex industrial applications. This role blends new product design with sustaining engineering and hands-on support for manufacturing and fielded equipment. Responsibilities

Design and document electrical systems for industrial equipment, including power distribution, control panels, instrumentation, and safety circuits. Produce and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, bills of materials, and HMI/operator interface designs. Program, configure, and debug PLC- and HMI-based control systems (primarily Allen-Bradley and Siemens S7). Lead or participate in design reviews; translate requirements into drawings, specifications, and test plans. Drive engineering change activity within a CAD/PLM environment and process change requests promptly. Coordinate with manufacturing to ensure builds meet electrical and functional specifications; provide product/controls support on the shop floor. Support installation, commissioning, and operational testing to confirm compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Collaborate cross-functionally (mechanical design, production, quality, and service) to address issues, implement improvements, and ensure customer satisfaction. Job Requirements

Key Requirements: Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field (required). Demonstrated ability to design industrial control systems and create complete electrical documentation packages. Proficiency programming and troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens S7), with working knowledge of industrial networking and I/O. Hands-on experience using AutoCAD (or equivalent) for electrical drawings. Strong command of MS Office and familiarity with manufacturing/ERP environments. Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to present technical information to internal teams and customers. Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve practical problems with incomplete information in a job-shop/manufacturing setting. Work authorization in the U.S. Key Qualifications

2+ years of experience in a custom manufacturing or job-shop environment. Experience with Rockwell RSView/FactoryTalk View and/or Wonderware/AVEVA platforms. Background in HMI standards, machine safety (e-stops, interlocks), and NEC/UL/CE considerations. Exposure to BPCS/AS400 or similar manufacturing systems. Familiarity with root-cause analysis and continuous improvement methods. Comfortable supporting builds on the manufacturing floor and interacting with end customers. Detail-oriented with strong math and analytical skills (geometry/trigonometry/statistics a plus).
