Overview
Production Specialist - 2nd Shift at Butler Aerospace & Defense — Goleta, CA. This role focuses on the packaging of IR detectors for high reliability space, military and commercial applications. Pay Rate: $32.40 per hour. This is a 2nd shift position. Responsibilities
A self-motivated, self-disciplined individual who can work with individuals and teams outside the department. Follow engineering instructions with exceptional attention to detail. Work extended periods in an environmentally controlled area. Use a microscope and small hand-held tools (tweezers, screwdrivers, etc.), often using both hands simultaneously. Handle tasks involving chemicals (epoxies, adhesives, solvents, etc.) and adhere to rigorous methodologies and instructions. Wear company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all safety-related processes, procedures, and protocols. Push a cart and reach above shoulder height as required; visually inspect small parts. Required Skills & Qualifications
Able to work from engineering instructions with exceptional attention to detail. Able to work extended periods in an environmentally controlled area. Able to use a microscope and small hand-held tools (tweezers, screwdrivers, etc.), often using both hands at the same time. Basic to moderate computer use. Desired Skills
Previous experience in a cleanroom and around ESD-sensitive parts is a plus. Understanding of FOD and FOD reduction methods and concerns is a big plus. Familiarity using Z-scopes is preferred. Experience in wire bonding or laser welding is highly desired. Education & Experience
Years of Experience Required: Four Education Level Required: High school diploma or GED required. Candidates must communicate in English and understand written and verbal instruction in English. Performance & Culture
Successfully complete online factory access training and approval skill training. Work in a collaborative team environment; train under a senior technician, technician lead, or process engineer depending on the operation and skill set requirements. Effective communication in English with technicians, management/supervision, process engineers, and support staff. Benefits
