WTR Search is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer
for a full MEP-FP consulting engineering firm focused on giving clients the highest quality in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Engineering solutions. This position can be in-office or hybrid. You must reside in the Orlando, FL area. Qualifications
10 years of experience in HVAC and/or Plumbing Building Systems Design in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineering Expected to immediately step in to assist and provide support for all design aspects of assigned projects Strong understanding of the Mechanical Engineering discipline and can provide immediate support for a fast-paced department Must have working knowledge of AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit Self-motivated, ability to learn quickly, accept responsibilities, and take on new challenges as presented Responsibilities
Attend Kick-off meetings with design team, clients, and owner to develop a scope of work for projects Perform Site visits to determine existing conditions and document all associated systems included in scope of work Provide project management from project kickoff through construction administration, as needed Convey all information required to internal stakeholders for submissions on all design deliverables Must have a thorough knowledge of applicable building codes Must be able to provide consultation on mechanical equipment room sizes during the appropriate design stage Must be able to produce & review HVAC Load & Energy calculations Understands and applies concepts of CHW, HW, WSHP, variable & constant flow systems Must be able to design HVAC ductwork layouts, ductwork sizing, and specify required equipment QA/QC reviews of all calculations by Designers, and provide guidance and mentoring Respond to RFIs for the project, accurately review submittals, and solve installation issues as needed during construction Ability to draft, edit, and review specifications to reflect the project requirements Must be able to edit and develop scope of work (basis of design) narratives Attend meetings and communicate clearly and thoroughly with clients, establish their needs, and discuss designs and design issues Ability to coordinate and interact with all other trades Meet all deadlines as assigned Requirements
Must have at least 10 years of Mechanical (MEP) design experience Must be proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, & Bluebeam Must hold a Professional Engineering (PE) License Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited 4-year/university Must be self-motivated, able to learn quickly, accept responsibilities, and take on new challenges as presented
