Overview

Senior Engineering and Permitting Manager (Western Region) role at SOLV Energy. The Senior Engineering and Permitting Manager (Western Region) is responsible for providing overall engineering management of all projects in the western region for all SOLV Energy projects. This role supports a hybrid work environment and requires onsite work in San Diego at least 50% of the time; candidates may reside in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sacramento, or Arizona. Responsibilities

Manage all engineering and permitting deliverables for all projects in the western region Train and manage individual contributors (1-3) as needed to support projects in the West Region Coordinate all deliverables within the team to maintain a consistent output Provide management of engineering consultants including Electrical, Structural, Civil, Geotechnical Engineers, and Project Surveyors Provide QA/QC of work products prepared by consultants and the entire integrated design Develop and propose value engineering solutions to enhance fee and reduce risk Manage constructability reviews with field teams to implement design preferences, lessons learned, and install means and methods Coordinate, attend, and lead preconstruction site walks during the design phase Coordinate with product manufacturers to ensure major equipment is in compliance with project/contract requirements and coordinated with all disciplines Understand all project design requirements (SOLV, owner/contract, and permit requirements) Represent SOLV engineering and permitting team during owner meetings Advocate on behalf of the Project/Owner and ensure project team personnel follow all engineering and permitting requirements Ensure coordination between consultants Review consultant proposals and scope of work documents Identify and track engineering and permitting changes that could impact budget or schedule Develop energy production model (contract model) and ensure final design conforms to contract modeling assumptions and IFC drawings Manage owner/independent engineering comments and SOLV consultant responses Understand AHJ (Federal, State, Local) requirements and provide guidance to owners, contract team, design teams, and field teams Develop EPC contract exhibits related to permits obtained from owners/contractors Provide due diligence review during RFP stage (CUPs, ESAs, EIRs, wetlands permits, etc.) Develop close working relationships with AHJs and SOLV Regional manager and the western region superintendent Oversee permitting schedules for assigned projects and attend AHJ meetings as needed Coordinate between design teams (internal SOLV and outside consultants) and AHJs Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements

Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Minimum 10 years experience in Solar Engineering or Solar Management Minimum 5 years experience in Solar in this region Minimum 8 years experience in managing a team Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification; Professional Engineer (PE) license for a state in the region Working knowledge of applicable building codes and requirements Ability to read and understand civil/electrical/structural plans and geotechnical reports Basic CAD knowledge, Civil 3D preferred Ability to manage multiple projects and lead teams simultaneously Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Strong sense of urgency 50% travel required Equal Opportunity Employer
