GEI’s Pasadena office is currently seeking a senior level Civil Engineer with a background in civil, agricultural or water resources engineering. This individual will lead field and engineering planning, and design efforts related to water resource facilities and water conveyances; preparing, and overseeing, design reports, engineering drawings and specifications, project cost estimates, and providing engineering support during construction. Provide oversight and design expertise for water resources and water conveyance projects including pipelines. Provide oversight and preparation in the development of quality scope, fee, reports, plans, specifications and estimates for multiple projects. Lead efforts for producing deliverables for design projects developing Plans, Specifications, and Cost Estimates for construction. Stamping and signing final project engineering deliverables (for example plans, specifications, design reports) as the Engineer of Record. Supervise engineering staff, CAD staff, technicians and/or other technical staff. Review and evaluate design and construction practices. Lead and provide engineering support during construction including responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), reviewing contractor submittals, and incidental site visits to observe construction. Attend project meetings and work in a team environment or independently. Identify need and support meetings with internal staff and external clients. Participate in and lead civil engineering practice business development activities and contribute to both office and practice growth.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

Minimum Qualifications

Licensed Professional Engineer in California. Fifteen years or more of experience in general civil design including pipelines. Experience with preparation of detailed designs, plans, and specifications. Experience managing PEs, EITs, CAD staff, and other non-technical personnel with multiple project deadlines and client requirements. Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
