Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs identified during initial inspections and as per the guidance recommended by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and/or the NAVFAC P-300. Manage a 120 calendar day cycle for completing general maintenance and safety inspections on CESE/ MHE; maintain this service cycle. Schedule all CESE/MHE equipment for service every 120 calendar days or sooner if high mileage is accumulated (high mileage typically > 5,000 miles since last service). Reference the CESE/MHE inventory list itemizing each piece by Shop Location, Equipment Identification Number, Make, Model, Year, fuel type and current mileage. Coordinate vehicle pick-up for service with the Government’s Transportation Officer; return vehicles to a Government designated holding area after maintenance and inspections. Do not use government vehicles for personnel use. Perform maintenance and repair on Government owned CESE/MHE identified in the inventory list; provide supply and data entry support for all equipment and vehicles. Conduct scheduled maintenance at three levels (A, B, C) based on mileage or time; complete standard safety inspections on every Shop Repair Order (SRO). Level A maintenance every 120 calendar days includes safety inspections, mechanical inspection, fluid and filter changes, and items per OEM recommendations; annotate on the SRO and update the vehicle maintenance database within three days of final inspection. Level C maintenance annually includes a detailed safety inspection and four-wheel alignment when warranted; annotate on the SRO and update the vehicle maintenance database within three days of final inspection. Serve as liaison with the government to discuss access to CESE/MHE, maintenance schedules, and use of Government furnished equipment (GFE) if provided. Be available during standard business hours to address issues and workflow. Possess the capacity and technical skills to repair suspension, steering, electrical, instrumentation, computer controls, driver controls, brakes, fuel delivery, carburetion, fuel injection, exhaust, and power train systems. Repair electric and manual window mechanisms, vehicle locks, seats, and incorporated electronics. Demount and remount tires of all sizes and balance wheel/tire assemblies; perform tire repairs including plugs, patches, and complete replacements as needed. Perform welding, metal forming, sheet metal work, minor body and fender repairs. Provide maintenance and repair on GSE such as lawn mowers, pressure washers, trimming equipment, generators, compressors, hydraulic attachments, and other small portable tools; hand off GSE to the appropriate mechanic for service and return equipment to the designated holding area after inspections. Requirements

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an OEM mechanic at an automotive dealership or commercial fleet mechanic. Equivalent military experience. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in diesel engines and at least two other Heavy Truck Categories (e.g., Drive Train; Brakes; Suspension & Steering; Electrical; Heating & A/C; Preventative Maintenance).
