Our TPA Liability Oversight Claims Team’s-Construction can be very complex and as such we are looking for a candidate that is well-seasoned with a balanced knowledge of Construction bodily injury claims arising from automobile, general liability and employers’ liability coverages. As a Senior Claims Specialist, TPA Liability- Construction, you will be responsible for the oversight of complex primary bodily injury claims related to this book of business. This role further includes the oversight and monitoring of self-insured retentions, deductibles and guaranteed cost programs, as well as the underlying aggregates and primary limits of liability by policy and project, ensuring proper reporting of potential exposures within the AXA XL policy program. You will oversee a mix of claims stemming from automobile, general liability and employee liability exposures, and serve in the critical role of management of our third-party claim administrator partners throughout the United States. You will make appropriate recommendations in the management of each claim from coverage through investigation, litigation and final settlement. What You’ll Be Doing Active management of caseload of high-value liability claims venue throughout the United States for assigned clients in our Construction book of business. Effectively coordinate coverage referrals and compliance between third-party claim administrators, claim and legal managements, and AXA XL’s compliance department. Conduct claims oversight and guidance of TPAs in accordance with AXA XL best practices in the major phases of claim handling including coverage, investigation, evaluation, reserving, resolution and recovery to which AXA XL may be exposed. Collaborate with business partners, as appropriate, on claim management and strategies to deliver the most optimal outcome and ensure alignment of our evaluation of exposure and strategy to resolve. Collaborate and consult with internal claim resources, such as regional practice leaders and claim legal, to ensure the most optimal outcome and mitigation of claim exposure and expense. Perform claim account management for assigned clients to communicate claim issues and results, participate in the TPA audit process, and collaborate on technical and service issues relating to the TPA performance with your account clients. Collaborate proactively with internal and external stakeholders regarding claim experience, results, and trends. Provide input into the development of key metrics to support TPA claim audits and assist in the coordination and retention of external counsel, as needed. What You Will Bring College degree preferred. Advanced claim handling experience involving high value/complex claim management and litigation management for automobile, general liability, and employers liability arising from the Construction book of business. Defined expertise in managing coverage and compliance related issues associated with automobile, general liability and employers liability. Multi-jurisdictional (U.S.) experience. Experience managing claims in an unbundled TPA insurance model and providing technical liability oversight. Experience with NY Labor Law desired. Overall knowledge of workers’ compensation, employers liability desired, but not required. Demonstrated managerial leadership and ability to influence actions of external relationships. Effective verbal and written communication, along with seasoned negotiation skills. Effective organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to continuously improve internal processes, inclusive of claim processes, file outcomes and external relationships. Effective teamwork/communication skills to effectively collaborative with practice leaders, legal, TPAs and clients to produce desired outcomes. Significant progression towards or completion of insurance or industry-related qualifications or certifications, preferred. Advanced experience handling construction bodily injury claims.
