This is a hybrid position (in-office with remote flexibility); employees are required to be in the Oakbrook Terrace, IL office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). This position is eligible for relocation assistance. Primary Purpose Develops and/or leads teams in studies, plans, criteria, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, performance assessments, integrated systems analysis, cost estimates, budgets, and related work for the planning, design, licensing, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of Exelon’s transmission facilities/systems. Provides consultation and recommendations to the Company and to other business units or customers as a result of studying company or customer-owned systems, processes, equipment, vehicles, or facilities. Reviews financial data from budgets and actual costs of projects. Provides technical expertise to strategic, legislative and operational decisions. Trains and mentors others. Note: The position may require extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies. Primary Duties Leads and performs assignments in specialized areas requiring extensive engineering expertise, maintaining state-of-the-art credentials in the technical area. Leads and performs engineering tasks and projects with significant financial and operational impact; may include field testing, troubleshooting, and peer review; may involve a small number of complex projects. Evaluates, develops, implements and leads projects with significant financial and operational impact; plans initial commissioning and prepares documentation deliverables. Participates in department planning, site walkdowns, meetings, budget recommendations and performance monitoring to achieve committed results. Performs assignments independently and may lead multi-discipline teams; may oversee contractors. Serves as an expert in a specialized area and may act as an expert witness or provide expert opinions as required. Provides recommendations to management and implements action plans to improve performance and cost effectiveness. Provides detailed technical training, mentorship and peer review to others; participates in technical and industry societies to stay current with technologies and engineering practices. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer; knowledge of engineering design, principles and practices. Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems. Knowledge and application of problem solving approaches and engineering theory. Detailed knowledge of applicable standards, codes, methods, and practices in areas of expertise. 7+ years of professional engineering experience; thorough knowledge in related engineering areas. Ability to apply advanced engineering principles to identify and resolve complex issues. Minimum of three related career experiences or leadership of a recognized industry committee; or PE license, advanced degree, MBA or project management certification. Preferred Qualifications Graduate degree or graduate work in Engineering, Business Administration or Project Management Certification. Licensed Professional Engineer; strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Working knowledge of analysis software such as CYMDIST, PSS/E, Python, PSCAD, MATLAB, etc. Ability to analyze industry-wide trends and implement enhancements. Benefits Annual salary will vary based on skills and experience: $100,800.00/Yr – $138,600.00/Yr.
