As an APU Controls Advanced Systems Engineer at Honeywell, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating control systems for Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) in the Engines & Power Systems (EPS) business unit. You will be integral in creating system solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will have ownership for systems at every aspect of the systems life cycle; from the front end of business development through product end of life.
You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and work out of our Phoenix, Arizona location on a hybrid work schedule. As a Sr Advanced Systems Engr, you will lead a team of systems engineers in designing, developing, and delivering advanced systems. You will shape technological advancements and manage project portfolios.
Responsibilities:
Requirements analysis and decomposition
Develop and implement control algorithms and software for APUs
Control system design, integration, and validation & verification
Model-based development system design
Customer interaction
Project oversight, coordination, and budget/schedule
Collaboration with cross-functional teams
Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or aerospace engineering
6+ years of systems engineering experience in support of safety-critical aerospace development (2+ if master degree)
Strong knowledge and understanding of control systems engineering principles
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Experience with control system design, implementation, and testing
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or aerospace engineering
Experience/knowledge of IBM DOORS including DXL programming and Rationale Publishing
Experience/knowledge of new IBM DOORS NG
Experience/knowledge of Matlab and Simulink
Experience/knowledge of System/Software requirements including processing and decomposition
Experience/knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) including Cameo tool for MBSE
