Overview
Senior Heavy Civil Estimator at STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES (Structural Group, Inc.). Structural Technologies is the exclusive licensee of VSL® post-tensioning systems in the United States and provides products and technical support for bridges, buildings, tanks, and other structures. This position is based in the United States and can be seated at one of our current branch locations, including Fort Worth, TX. Responsibilities
Prepare estimates by calculating statistics such as quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man-hour, and equipment costs to complete the full scope of work. Define and quantify the scope of work and prepare comprehensive conceptual, budgetary, and construction cost estimates for projects. Review and research historical data and compile summary reports to develop guidelines and precedents for future estimates. Maintain involvement in identifying sales opportunities with prospective and existing customers. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management may be preferred. 10–17 years of construction estimating experience, ideally in concrete repair or related heavy civil projects. Ability to work with a team to estimate projects of moderate complexity up to $10 million. Ability to evaluate, quantify, and capture specification requirements within estimates. Experience with terms and conditions in construction contracts. Strong understanding of the heavy civil construction market, current market prices, and key clients (engineers, architects, property managers, owners). Experience maintaining client relationships while performing light business development. Strong construction math and computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and estimating software; ability to read drawings. Ability to travel 10–20%. Ideal profile
