To reinforce our Swiss subsidiary based in Rohnert Park, CA, USA, we are hiring for the role of: INJECTION MOLDING ENGINEER POSITION SUMMARY The Injection Molding Engineer is responsible for owning and driving mold development and injection molding projects through adherence to established product design, injection molding processes, tooling, resin, and equipment models. The key responsibility of this position is to lead new injection molding projects, qualification of new molds, and to develop and use simulation software in the design of mold tooling. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager and works cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Operations, and Quality to ensure mold operations are executed efficiently, timely and to specification for customer products. This is a full-time, on-site position (no remote option). Responsibilities

Assist in setting up robust injection molding processes on multi-cavity molds and insert molding Develop and maintain strong working relationship with functional groups (R&D, ME, Quality Operations, Supply Chain and Regulatory) Coordinate supplier qualification activities (PPAP, IQ, OQ, PQ, DOE, etc.) to meet requirements of the application Understand limits / fits, tolerance stack up analysis. Highly experienced in Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing (GDT) and application for inspection setup and tolerancing allowances of molded components Proficient in generating qualification requirements and reports for injection molded components Use and understanding of Statistical Tools (DoE, Gage R&R, SPC) Provide mentoring, training, and design guidance in the development and deployment of injection molding tooling and for successful cable designs Collaborate cross functionally with team members (i.e., R&D, Regulatory, Suppliers/Contract Manufacturers, Marketing, Biocompatibility, and Operations) Designs, develops, and implements injection mold machinery and equipment, tools, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, prototype model production and machine attachments required for production or experimental use, considering accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements Shall use CAD/CAM design tools and simulation software (Mold Flow analysis) Collects and provides metrics, data for mold operations and SPC Adheres to LEMO best practices for design and process control methodologies for all production tooling Holds regular cross-functional reviews to educate and update the broader organization on the success of mold projects and operations. Regularly reports on yield loss, failure modes, corrective actions relating to mold operations Prioritizes projects in accordance with in-process or pending production work orders Physical Job Description

Typical Working Conditions: Office environment, Quality Laboratory, Engineering Lab, Cable, Connector, injection molding work areas Equipment Used: Computer and office equipment and tools used in Cable Assembly and Connector Assembly departments Will work on equipment including injection machine, injection molds, CNC machines, Lasers, test equipment, crimp applicators and presses, programmable prep equipment, automated dispensing equipment, etc. Essential Physical Tasks: Sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods of time; Able to lift 25 lbs. on occasion. Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in injection molding process development Strong understanding of injection molding processes on multi-cavity molds and insert molding Solid understanding of Plastic Part Design, Injection Molding Guidelines Experience with process simulation and analysis tools, and the ability to interpret engineering documents, including Mold Flow Knowledge of both Crystalline & Amorphous plastics resin (examples include polycarbonate, acrylic, PVC, Nylon and Co-polyesters) Experience leader of cross functional teams including R&D, Marketing, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Quality, Sourcing and Supply Chain through qualification processes Is familiar with RJG Master Molder (or equivalent) and Design of Experiments for mold process development / definition Ability to transfer technical knowledge to manufacturing operations Demonstrated initiative and innovation We Offer
