Sr. Marine Structural Engineer role at Black & Veatch. This role involves marine structural design, analysis, and coordination on domestic and international projects. The Opportunity
Provide marine structural engineering related design, analysis, and studies for domestic and international marine, coastal and heavy civil projects. Design and inspect marine structures including docks, marinas, wharves, piers, steel, timber and concrete pile structures, floating structures, breakwaters, seawalls, bulkheads, and waterfront facilities. Experience with design hydraulic structures is a plus. Act as a technical leader in a regional practice lead capacity, implementing engineering strategy and advising on national practice strategy for Coast and Flood Infrastructure projects. Execute assigned projects and mentor less experienced professionals. The Team

Provide guidance on department design guides, standards, systems, codes and BV policies. Maintain or develop engineering standards and guides and provide technical guidance on projects or disciplines. Ensure compliance with BV quality program; promote quality culture; support continuous improvement, change management and risk management. Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multiple or mega projects; conduct research and advise on equipment/materials selection; manage data for engineering work. Prepare complex calculations; manage budgets, schedules and quality; develop advanced engineering solutions; supervise and delegate tasks to team members; review lower‑level work; lead production teams or multi‑discipline coordination; establish project work plans. Coordinate with internal/external team members on complex projects; define project schedules for single or multiple disciplines. Identify key client interests and drivers; communicate these to the project team and adapt work to address client needs. Identify future client needs and position BV for the future; may support business development or pursuit activities. Serve as a technical specialist in a broad or specialized field; apply advanced concepts to complex problems; support multiple projects with high-level technical challenges; may interact with professional societies and senior engineering management. Oversee performance management, career development, and related HR activities; mentor professionals and identify successors. Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline Prior experience as a Marine Structural Engineer Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or active pursuit of PE licensure Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program Minimum of 11 years related work experience Certifications: Professional engineering registration is preferred or in active pursuit. Work Environment/Physical Demands
Hybrid or flexible options may be offered after 90 days, subject to manager discretion and work assignments. Typical office and construction environments; exposure to extreme weather, high noise, safety hazards, fumes, dusts, and physical demands including lifting up to 40 pounds. Additional Information
