Responsibilities Imagine a day where you're shaping the future by upgrading critical systems with modern digital solutions. You're creating detailed engineering packages, developing test plans, analyzing performance, and reviewing advanced technologies. Engineering Change Package (ECP) Development : Prepare Engineering Change Packages (ECP) to replace/upgrade obsolete analog-based I&C systems with modern computer-based I&C systems and components. ECP preparation includes developing/revising associated documentation (e.g., specifications, system descriptions, cabinet/panel layout diagrams, wiring/cable termination diagrams, bill of materials (BOM), part lists, vendor instruction manuals, operations manuals, etc.).

Testing & Analysis : Prepare test plans and detailed test instructions. Perform engineering calculations and analysis (e.g., FMEA, qualitative assessments, reliability evaluation of computer-based systems, response time analysis, instrument setpoint and uncertainty calculations, instrument drift analysis, etc.).

System Design & Procurement : Develop specifications and functional requirements for procurement of computer-based I&C systems. Review OEM digital platform hardware and software documentation for specified applications.

Project Support & Collaboration : Provide estimates to Project Management to support budget and schedule development. Participate in project meetings, work with colleagues and clients to develop strong relationships. Plan and implement timely execution of assigned engineering activities.

Regulatory & Standards Compliance : Become proficient in applying regulatory requirements, industry codes, and standards that are unique to digital I&C systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering (BSCSE), or related field in Engineering or equivalent education/experience

Minimum of 6 years of I&C engineering experience, with significant experience with computer-based platforms in the nuclear industry (preferred)

Minimum of 6 years of experience with development of test plans and detailed test instructions

Experience in the design, installation, and testing of large scale digital control and computer monitoring system upgrades (e.g., replacement of Turbine/Generator Control Systems with DCS platforms, process computer, and cyber security systems)

Direct involvement in the entire digital upgrade life cycle including feasibility studies, procurement specifications, design change packages, FAT/SAT test procedure development, installation, and testing

Working knowledge of the application of current regulatory and industry digital upgrade standards

Knowledge of digital hardware and software components used in digital I&C system platforms (CPUs, I/O modules, fiberoptic modules, network interface modules, switch/routers, servers, HSI equipment such as thin clients, touch screens, and their applications in digital I&C systems)

Aptitude for technical problem solving, strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication, teamwork, and client service focus

Ability to manage multiple tasks while working effectively with all levels of staff and management

Strong analytical ability and problem identification/resolution skills

Travel: 15-25% of the time; duration may vary from a few weeks to several months depending on project and client needs

Pay Range USD $102,400.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.

Salary Range Information:

The listed range reflects typical compensation for this full-time role based on location, experience, and skills. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as work location, relevant experience, and education.

Eligibility to Work:
